Student Committee

The Hunter Theater Department Student Committee was created in Spring 2020, with the purpose of building a connection between the staff and the students. Committee members are voted in by fellow Baker students. Their goal is to hear students and faculty needs, and communicate them appropriately. They also run events and other programs related to uniting the department.

The Spring 2021 Student Survey is now available. Share your thoughts with the committee, so we can build a better department together.

Labiba is a Senior at Hunter College majoring in English and Education. She started her involvement in the Hunter Theater department her junior year but instantly fell in love with the sense of community she was greeted with. Some highlights from her time at Hunter include acting as Regan in Lear and Connie in Dance Nation. Carlos Garcia

Carlos (he/him, they/them) is a third semester Theatre Graduate student and director/actor at Hunter College.  Though he is relatively new to the department he has participated as a performer in Eurydice and more recently the Hunter Theatre Company’s 24 hour play festival. His primary focus on the Baker Student Council is to actively work towards unsuspending the Theatre MA program by both inciting interest in the undergraduates, and also promoting the MA students work through research days and other events. However as someone who has gone through the undergraduate experience he is ready and willing to lend a hand to any and all questions towards students new to college, transfers, and anyone in between! If you’re seeking a relatively dorky (anime/games/general king of weebs) but passionate person who will actively work to change aspects of the department, please contact him, he’d be thrilled! Though bear with him, Instagram is still a mystery to him.
